Pumpkin Patch

We took Sydney on her first trip to the pumpkin patch on Saturday. It was a beautiful fall day. If you kept moving you didn't even need a coat. The girl who normally loves having her picture taken wanted nothing to do with the camera today. She was more interested in exploring. While most of my pictures are of her running out of the shot, she did at least stop moving long enough for me to get a couple pictures of her with what she calls "pumpo" (that's Sydney-speak for "pumpkin").

It's a good thing Newton wasn't sitting under this tree!
Sydney loved the petting zoo. She's getting very good with her animal sounds, but I don't think we've taught her the sound goats make - she kept mooing at them. These lucky goats had a penthouse. They were safe from little kiddie hands.
Sydney converses with piggies.

Sydney and a sheep see eye-to-eye.
She had a great time climbing all over this wooden train.
I was surprised that she wasn't afraid to go into the straw tunnels. She just ran right in with Daddy chasing close behind. It was a tighter squeeze for Daddy in the tunnel than it was for Sydney.

And then Sydney saw the slide. We couldn't just walk by without going down the slide. She lets us know she wants to go down it by trying to climb up it.We didn't realize how fast this slide was going to be and Sydney just sailed right off the bottom.

We waited way too long to get a family picture. By the time we took it Sydney was tired and starving and wanted no part of sitting with us for a picture. This one was the best of the bunch. The rest look like she's fighting for her life trying to get away from us.
I picked up Uncle Dan and Aunt Victoria from the airport (they just got back from their honeymoon). Uncle Dan and Sydney spent some quality time together, and Sydney realized she's got some pretty big shoes to fill.
Those shoes are almost as big as she is!!!
