Even though you can't see it in her hand, this is Sydney eating her first fortune cookie. Her fortune said she would be showered with good luck. Let's hope that one comes true.
Sunday morning we took our visitors to a champagne brunch at Port Edward. The entire restaurant is like a big boat, complete with an indoor pond with goldfish. Some of them were gigantic. Sydney sat very well at the table last night during dinner, but we weren't so lucky this morning. She was more interested in looking at the fish than eating. We did get her to eat a little bit (especially oyster crackers that Grandpa Darryl dipped under the chocolate fountain) before we took turns entertaining her so everyone else could eat.
Grandpa Darryl took Sydney outside and was very surprised that when a boat docked next to the restaurant, Sydney pointed at it and said "boat." She certainly is learning lots. Every day I'm amazed at what comes out of her mouth.
This is as close as we let Sydney get to the river. It was close enough to see ducks and that was just fine with Sydney. She said "cack cack" to every one she saw, and then giggled when they flew away. Sydney loves benches. She loves to sit on the bench on our deck, and when we're out and about and she spots a bench, she has to sit on it, too.
After our guests left Daddy entertained Sydney and Fiona with bubbles. I was hoping Fiona would stand up on her hind legs and chase bubbles as well, but chirping at them was all she'd do.
